As a new addition to the ever growing and exciting exploration of nature, the Botanical Garden invites you to discover the new pedagogical and family center. “La Ferme du Jardin” is a living conservatory of cattle and horses from Normandy and the Anglo-Norman regions. 

Set on a 2-hectare site, come and discover over twenty ancient breeds and experience the thrill  of  meeting and stroking our small tamed animals.

I am glad to share my passions for country life and ancient breeds and with this tour take our visitors on a journey to discover the  wonderful treasures and exciting living heritage of Normandy.

Our « Home farm » presents several local endangered species and is an added attraction to the poetic exploration of the plant world already proposed by the Botanical gardens of Vauville.

“La Ferme du Jardin” has been created to respond to three main goals : 

 •      To promote public awarness of the characteristics and great importance of our endangered local breeds. For the  biodiversity, the history of our land and the quality of our traditionnal local food.

 •      To contribute to maintain the number of animals in each breed thanks to a close collaboration with conservation associations, based on a reproductive plan aimed at preserving the current genetic diversity.

 •      Perpetuate the history and work of men and women who have spent hundred of years forging, selecting and breeding these animals we are able to enjoy today.

Throughout your visit, information panels will give you  details about our different breeds of animals. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have at the end of your tour.
